A more recent contributor to Methodist traditions is the famous poet and song-writer Fanny Crosby.  You may have heard of her, and if you attend Methodist worship you’ve certainly sung one of her songs, maybe Blessed Assurance, I Am Thine O Lord, He Hideth My Soul, or hundreds of others that appear in our hymnal.  During her lifetime, Fanny Crosby wrote more than 8,000 hymns.

But do you know, really, who she was?
