August 2021

Grandview Elementary Open House

August 2nd was the first day of school in Washington County, TN. Some kids were excited to be going back to school to see their friends again and learn new things. Others, not so much!

Pastor Randall and some of our missions folks were on hand at Grandview Open House to greet children and parents and invite them to visit Fairview.

Homecoming 2021

Homecoming 2021 was a wonderful worship experience, with a message from guest pastor, Bryan Orchard. Bryan gave his heart to Jesus when he was very young at Fairview, and went on to answer the call to become a pastor. We are always glad to see him and his wife, Karin, and to hear him preach.

The congregation joyfully sang the old songs, Mansion Over the Hilltop, The Old Rugged Cross, and Because He Lives.

We were inspired by the offertory music, Amazing Grace, by professional pianist, Judith Plumb. As the daughter of Jean and Carroll Campbell, Judith also grew up at Fairview and we welcome her back always.

As true Methodists, everyone enjoyed a covered dish dinner in the Fellowship Hall after the worship service.

If you missed the service, you can view the video on Fairview’s Facebook page.

Homecoming Choir, 2021

Fairview Choir was back together, directed by Kathy Shelton, to sing “The Old-Fashioned Meeting”. Not pictured, Gail Rector, Brenda Sampson, Bob Sampson, and Jessica Shelton.

The theme for Fairview’s Homecoming 2021 was from Mark 5:19: “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you.” In keeping with that theme the congregation was asked to submit stories of something amazingly wonderful that God has done.
